Race day: five school and Rolls Royce teams race their pedal-powered karts at the Rolls Royce Training Centre
This community project, led by Rolls-Royce aims to encourage school children to get involved with real-life engineering problems. As part of the project the students design and build go-karts made from scrap bikes and then race them on Race Day; 7 July 2007.
The schools taking part in this year's challenge are;
Sinfin Community SchoolLeesbrook Community Sports College in ChaddesdenDa Vinci Community SchoolLittleover Community School St. John Houghton School.
Each team consists of five students. This is the biggest year yet.
The race itself begins at 10:30am and the prizes will be presented at approximately 12:30. It will be held at the Rolls-Royce Learning and Developing Centre Gate 5a Wilmore Road Derby.
