2nd Winter Race Report

It was a hot and sunny day on Saturday 1^st October; the course at Allestree Park was a perfect setting for the picnic rugs and chairs that the spectators used to watch the 2^nd race of our supposedly winter series.

The U14 & U16's got the racing off to a good start, Noel Baker were well represented along with our regular racer Peter Clayton from MurrayPark. It was fast & furious with Oliver Wheatley taking 1^st spot followed closely by Mathew Alton in 2^nd place and Alex Sowter a close 3rd.

We decided to combine the U12's & U10's race and it proved to be a nail-biter. Ben Chilton rode away from the start and let the rest of the field battle it out.  Sarah Briggs on one of Cyclederby's hired bikes fought to come 4^th overall and 1^st Girl.   Alex Colstonfield came 2^nd followed closely by Jake Gray. The three podium winners for the U12 race was Reuben Blakeman 1^st; Harley Glover-Newsin 2^nd & Oliver Binding 3rd

Our average age for the U8's race was 5!! And what a race it proved to be, everyone gave it everything they had got. Otto Chilton showed his strength from the start whilst Harriot Limb and Luke Price battled for the podium places. A big well done to our youngest riders: Arthur Limb, Luke Price, Charlie Colesth Shield & Oliver Roberts.

I want to say a big well done to all the children that took part in these races, the main thing is that you all came along and had fun.
