Cycle Derby CC is a brand new cycling club for children in Derby and Derbyshire. We have regular rides, coaching sessions and members competing in cyclo-cross events across the region. We are a friendly club and we welcome anyone new to the sport that wants to get involved in cycling for training, racing or simply for the joy of riding. The Club welcomes all young riders aged 6 and over, regardless of their ability.
The Club runs coached sessions throughout the city schools during term time and 4 day cycle clubs during the holidays, these are aimed at children aged 6-16 it covers a variety of different disciplines including BMX and MTB skills, BMX bikes helmets are provided for the specific BMX day.
With a huge amount of experience in the club in Road Racing, Time Trials, Cyclo-Cross and Mountain Biking we are in a great position to teach you how to ride safely and properly so that you can train and enjoy racing in the future.
Info for Parents
We now have four coaches that have completed the level 2 cycling qualification. Included in the coaching course is the sports coach UK's 'Safeguarding and Protecting Children' workshop, which helps to ensure that club is a safe and welcoming environment for young people of all backgrounds. All qualified coaches will also hold a valid First Aid certificate. Our aim is to improve basic cycling skills on the bike and improve fitness but to have fun too!
