Bike Pod hits the streets of Derby
Be on the look out on the streets of Derby for Cycle Derby's newest project the Bike Pod. The Pod is a Cycle Maximus (an electric assist load carrying bicycle) with a trailer that holds up to 15 wierd and wonderful bikes.
When you spot the Bike Pod it will no doubt be travelling to a school to deliver a cycle education workshop. This brand new experience provides children with a range of skills through a variety of fun cycling focused activites such as planning a route from home to school, learning the key parts of a bike and finding out how to fix a puncture.
There is also a menagerie of cycles for the children to try out from a tandem, a penny farthing, and a chopper to your more standard children's mountain bikes.
The Bike Pod made its first school visit to Grampian Primary in Sinfin on Thursday 4 February.
