Cycle Derby’s Bike to School Week Challenge is a Massive Success
Derby schools celebrated Bike to School Week between 28th April and 2nd May. Schools were challenged to take part and compete for the highest level of cycling to school to win prizes for their school.
34 schools returned their photographs and daily bike park counts. The winner was the school with the highest percentage of riding to school during the Challenge week.
Parkview Primary School cycled into first place with an average of 60% of pupils and teachers cycling to school. Mickleover Primary School claimed the 2nd prize with 49% of the school population cycling during the week. Parkview have received a cycle tryout fun day from Cycle Magic and both schools have received sports equipment vouchers
All schools that took part are receiving a certificate to mark their achievements and all children who cycled in four times or more have received one of our new Cycle Derby Blue Badges.
Congratulations to all that took part and made the 2008 Bike to School Week a whacking great success!
