Training & Skills
We have a vision to give anyone in Derby the opportunity and confidence to cycle - by offering training to individuals, schools, colleges, the University, workplaces, local clubs and community groups
- overhauling all our marketing, branding and signing
- ensuring that everyone is within 2 miles of the national cycle network by building a new city ring; National Cycle Network Route 66.
Our overall target is to quadruple the number of cycling journeys to school by 2009 from the 2005 baseline of 1%.

Family Activity Day.
We provide cycling opportunities for children and adults right across Derby.
Children
We deliver training right from Scootability (for nursery and infant children) to Bikeability Level 1 (for year 4/5 children and Bikeability Level 2 (for year 5/6 children). For more information about Bikeability, visit www.bikeability.org.uk
We have holiday clubs with BMXing and mud filled mountain biking, after school clubs and curriculum time activities including a cycling module for GCSE PE specialised coaching for BMX and Cyclo-X.
The work that we have done since 2005 has meant that the number of journeys to school by bike has tripled in that time! Have a look at the school finder to see what is going on at your school.
Adults
Our Pedal+ service offers adults of any age or ability one-to-one lessons to help you improve your skills and confidence, whether you want to go for a centle ride with the family or become a cycle-commuter.
