Bikeability Level 1
Level 1 is all about learning the skills needed to make a journey where there is no traffic. It also gives the grounding needed before moving onto Level 2
Cycle Derby offer Bikeability Level 1 to all Year 4/5 children in Derby. The course is delivered by our National Standard qualified cycle trainers and takes place during either a morning or afternoon session. It's run on the school playground and uses loads of fun games and activities to teach children basic bike skills such as stopping quickly with control; looking all around (including behind) without wobbling; signalling right and left without wobbling; manoeuvring to avoid objects and using gears.
Once children have completed the course they are presented with a red Bikeability Level 1 badge and certificate.
