Cycle Derby is a Derby City Council led project based within the Road Safety and TravelWise Team.

As a team we are committed to providing children with road safety skills and encouraging more people to walk or cycle to school.

The Road Safety and TravelWise team offer a range of services to schools free of charge.

For Key Stage one and two, we have a resource loan service offering an assortment of activity books, puzzles, games, DVDs and electronic pelican crossings.

We also offer class talks particularly to years five and six, assembly presentations, Theatre in Education and parent cycle guides.

The Road Safety and TravelWise Team also tackle school run congestion and help make the journey for pupils walking and cycling to school safer. Through their successful School Travel Plan and Safer Routes to School initiatives they have successfully increased walking and cycling at a number of Derby’s schools.
